Application criteria

  • Black South African youth
  • Studying a career in IT / software development
  • Good academic results
  • No other source of financial aid for tertiary education fees
  • Preference given to candidates with parents/guardians who are unemployed or low-income earners
  • Mature attitude, good work ethic & good communications skills
  • Keen to invest time and effort in their career & relationship with the Trust & its associates
  • Shows initiative & understanding of financial responsibilities
  • Must be willing to: provide personal & financial info, undergo criminal & qualification checks, participate in interviews & assessments 

What is expected from our trust beneficiaries? 

If selected, a beneficiary of the Trust will be required to:
  • Commit to funding the balance of their study fees
  • Hold an above 80% lecture attendance record
  • Disclose details of their academic records & financial statements
  • Write all exams for which they are registered at university
  • Take on additional practical studies and interactions with commercial companies to help them bridge the skills gap and gain commercial exposure
  • Attend corporate events & on-site company training at KCP and Kaleidocode
  • Participate in promotion of the Trust

Siviwe is really passionate about software development and technology as a whole. He love's the freedom and convenience software has given us.

​For him curiosity is definitely a prerequisite- a zest for wanting to learn something new and especially important is a passion for contributing to society and making a real difference in the lives of others which is what he believes software development can do for us.
